Yes, other protocols do work much faster, but it’s my preference to use OpenVPN with Viscosity as the security is much better, and I find the Viscosity software to be much more user friendly. After I posted this, I did find a server that offered acceptable speeds with Viscosity/OpenVPN: US-NEWYORK-TCP.
